Some scary games are more frightening than others. But these 10 are only for people who really like scary movies.
Most horror games aren’t meant to be hard to play, and that’s because they’re not supposed to be. But most players have found something in one of these games that stops them from moving forward. Sometimes it’s a surprise zombie that’s followed by another, and sometimes it’s a boss that’s very hard to beat.
Some horror games might be scary, but they might also be frustrating. Many players would say, though, that scary games can’t be too easy. If the player doesn’t have to do anything to stay alive in the game, they won’t feel like they’re in it.
Amnesia (Original And Series)
Amnesia is one of the most well-known horror games where you can’t fight the monster, and it’s hard to finish because the game is always scary and hard to play. The protagonist goes crazy if the player stays in the dark for too long.
The problem with this is that if the player doesn’t hide in the dark, strange creatures that might come to hunt them can find them. Amnesia does a great job of making even careful play dangerous, so there needs to be a constant balance.
Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly
Japanese horror games have a way of being very scary and scary-feeling while still being fun to play. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly is not your typical horror game. It takes parts of survival horror games and mixes them with things from Japanese culture. As a result, the story is full of ghosts, jump scares, and really scary parts.

Another game where you can’t defend yourself. Explore, figure out puzzles, find things, and then run away. Outlast doesn’t care if the player feels strong or not. In fact, the game is always trying to do the opposite of what it says. Even though you can’t fight back, this is one of the best horror games.
The dark parts are especially scary because players can only see through the camera and have to think about how much power it will use. There are times when it’s best to hide, and it might not be a good idea to stay in one place for too long.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
Not the most difficult horror game, but harder than most survival horror games. Resident Evil 2 Remake requires a certain amount of restraint, careful exploration, and good aim. It’s never a good idea to waste bullets. If this type of game is new to you, you might want to look for some tips before you start.
When people first tried this game, it caught them by surprise. Resident Evil 2 Remake was the first triple-A horror game in a long time that made players think more carefully about how they used their resources instead of holding their hands the whole way through.
Bloodborne
FromSoftware didn’t just make a game. Bloodborne is a horror-themed Action RPG that plays a lot like Dark Souls. It has Victorian elements, gothic architecture, monsters that look like werewolves, Lovecraftian elements, and many other scary things that give this game its own sense of dread.
Plus, most enemies can kill the Hunter with just a few hits. Even more so when the player isn’t very good. Most bosses can kill the Hunter in just a few hits, even if the characters are very strong and have been upgraded. But this was to be expected, since it was made by the same people who made Dark Souls.
Dead Space
Necromorphs are one of the basic enemies in Survival Horror games that are the most annoying. Not only are they hard to kill, but they are also fast, tricky, and dangerous. When you first start playing Dead Space, it’s easy to die a lot because these mutant zombie things are always after you.
The fact that players don’t take on the role of a soldier makes Dead Space harder. The main character is not a soldier, and the controls for aiming make it seem like he has never used a gun before. It’s also one of the best scary games ever made that takes place in space.
GTFO
GTFO is a survival horror First Person Shooter that lets players work together. The game isn’t very hard to play, and it has some similarities to games like Left 4 Dead, but it looks much different.
In GTFO, four players must work together to go underground and do a bunch of tasks given to them by a character named The Warden. The game is fun and scary, but it is also quite hard and requires coordinated actions and strategic thinking.
Alien: Isolation
Some parts of this game might remind you of Outlast, but in the end, you get a gun. But the gun is only good for killing synths. They aren’t a huge problem in Tunnel Rush game, but they can soak up a lot of your bullets and sometimes get in the way. This is not where Alien: Isolation gets hard, though.
When you first meet the Alien, you can expect to feel stressed out and scared a lot. The Xenomorph can come out of tunnels, rooms, or the ceiling out of nowhere and kill Amanda Ripley right away. Siren
Siren is the perfect game for people who like Japanese horror movies. It is always scary, dark, and exciting. It has a grayish color scheme that makes you feel sad and scared all the time. Even though it rains all the time and sometimes it’s foggy, this game is always exciting.
Siren can be very stressful if players don’t know what to do. At times, the rules of the game may not be very clear, making it easy for players to make big mistakes.
Ebola 2
This is a first-person horror game that uses a lot of Resident Evil’s ideas. When you play a first-person shooter, you always worry about what’s behind you. Ebola 2 is hard, players can’t save the game whenever they want to, and the zombies can take a lot of damage.
It’s easy to see how it borrows from the original Resident Evil. Players have to hit the zombies in the head and set fire to their bodies when they fall. There are keys, plants, lighters, gas, and other things. The game is so hard that you have to wonder if it is fun at all.
